Tony Jarvis aka "Theophilus" is a performing artist / multi - instrumentalist based in New York City. His music draws on a diverse pool of influences ranging from old-school Prince to soul standards to East Indian ragas, resulting in eclectic, catchy pop tunes, edgy spirituals and all-out anthems for a better, brighter world.

He is known for his dynamic, unpredictable solo performances as well as his continued involvement in unique, challenging side projects. He has twice orchestrated a live 40-member choir featuring prominent figures from the Downtown Music scene, and has played saxophone on stage with the likes of J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr), Mike Watt (Minutemen)
and jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie.

As a youngster he was a member of the seminal punk / funk band the Tar Babies (SST Records). Recently he's been recording a new EP with the great J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. fame producing, due out end of January 2002.

Besides performing songs from a variety of past and future projects he'll be screening the following videos:

-“Mothers Song” which is currently featured on MTV 2 as part of the “uncovered” series.

-a rough cut of the new video of the song "Ende Rhydiam"

-a new short film, "searching for sense", a documentary of a WTC memorial mural for which he created the soundtrack.
